  • Dolby & DTS trailers (4:3 and 16:9)....

    Making DVD's for personal use with AC3 audio and want to use those those Dolby trailers you see in the theater?

    Here they are;

    cinenow.com is your first and best source for all of the information you’re looking for. From general topics to more of what you would expect to find here, cinenow.com has it all. We hope you find what you are searching for!

    These are *.vob's so rename with an *.mpg extension if you need to use 'em in software that doesn't accept *.vob's.

    BTW: MSPro7 can do a proper translation of *.vob's to *.mpg in its capture tool and use AC3 on the timeline. Nice features.

    You can also purchase a DVD trailer demo disk from Dolby for about $20 USD;

    If you want to use them in projects that will be distributed you need to get permission to use the Dolby trademark on your disks;

    Thanks Doc, I managed to create a DVD with all the Dolby Digital Demos which sound so cool

    However Adobe Encore does not yet support DTS so I couldn't burn those

    Regards,
    Elie

          dvd dts authoring

          Hi Elie,

          dvdlab ( http://www.mediachance.com/dvdlab/ ) does authoring of dts encoded audio material. It's also much cheaper than Encore

          I haven't tried Encore but dvdlab seems quite powerful to me.

          Just my 0.02 euro

            I have Encore DVD, DVD-Lab, DVDWS2 beta, DVDiT and others and can tell you that DVDWS2 is definitely my favorite.

              Just curious, and don't take this the wrong way (like Jerry would, accompanied by personal threats of violence, like I'm sure to see soon for even mentioning his name) but is there any product from Ulead that is not your favorite in its market segment?

                Yes.

                In audio I really like Adobe's Audition (formerly Cool Edit Pro).

                I also like DVD-Lab very much but recognize that its not having an included AC3 encoder is a big limitation. Yes, you can use BeSweet but only if you aren't using Pioneer decks (won't work right on 'em).

                I can't stand Encore DVD or DVDiT. Both are bug infested nightmares. Check their support forums

                I'd put Canopus Eidus and Avid DV Xpress on my good software list too, but Eidus only runs on Canopus hardware.

                Premiere Pro is a good work in progress towards a single track editor. My main problem is that Adobe wouldn't listen to their betas and relased PPro far too soon. Instead they released it with many oddball feature implementations, bugs and omissions that make it annoying as hell for many to use. Nevertheless I do use it because I have an RT.X100.

                  Could you elaborate on this? I just finished a project with 60 copies to a client, I made the audio track 2.0 stereo ac3 with besweet/ac3machine.
                  If there are some combatibility issues I'd very much like to know about them (a bit late now though
