Hello!
A neighbour of my in-laws recently got into an accident: car that did not have right of way came fast out of a side street, the neighbour instinctively swerved to the left to avoid it and hit opposing traffic; the car that came out of the side street left the scene - speeds were rather slow but still his car is total loss. However, his dash cam allowed him to prove he was not the main guilty party, which makes quite a difference for the consequences and responsibilities.
So now my in-laws - the accident happened in their street - are now considering a dash cam. And actually, we are also thinking about it. The Subaru has cameras and in case of a severe accident you can request the footage, but for minor things it won't be possible.
My preference would go towards a very small hardwired camera that just starts when you start the car and stops when you stop the car.
Installing that may be quite a mess though...
Anyone have experience with dashcams?
Thanks,
Jörg
