Hi guys
I have recently (last week) changed isp’s , 56k dialup to a 11mb 802.11b wireless. I’m in a rural setting and can’t get cable or asdl. I’m running a small network: winme on k63 400 ,10/100 soho nic for internal and orinoco gold usb 802.11b to connect to the internet; win98 on pent 200
3com 10/100 nic ; win95 on pent 166 with 3com 10 nic.
The machines are for the kids to do homework . I have piled up 6 scsi cd-rom’s so they can all access reference material and not scratch the disks. There is only one printer on the system. To this end I need printer and file sharing turned on. The kids insist on ics to surf while I’m “hogging” my machine.
All seems to be working well BUT I seem to be able to see the isp’s internal network< C ME C YOU> . I guess that because of the system’s apparent infancy I need some info on how to lock down my system
any suggestions would be appreciated
this needs to be cost effective so I can save for the next M card
thanks
