Ok, I have a 40GB maxtor that's acting nutty. So I ran maxtor's extensive drive tests on it. It came up "clean". BS. So i scandisked it, and came up with one bad sector.
Anyway, the drive is acting weird (sometimes takes minutes to respond), and now it has a bad sector...I just want it replaced. But I know maxtor won't do it unless it fails that test...
Are there any harsh testing programs that will expose the problems with the disk? Any way I can "help" it fail that test?
