My mate has my old machine and he is unable to press the advanced button in display properties as it locks his computer up.
His current setup is a SuperMicro P4SDA+, P41.8, Radeon 8500 64MB and Matrox Millenium. Latest drivers for all hardware.
The problem appears to be the Matrox as when that is in the system he is unable to press the advanced button for the 8500. The advanced button works fine for the Millenium and as soon as the Millenium is removed every is fine again.
This exact system has also had the following vid cards and the lock up does not happen.
9700Pro and G200
8500 and G200
8500 and Nasty 8MB S3 card. (Single buffering card, yeehaa!)
Anyway anyone any idea as to how to fix/find the exact conflict, we have been trying to work this out for months and have tried every permentation of drivers imaginable, it always locks up. Not part of the pc is o/c and power is fine as the exact same setup can run a 9700Pro and G200 without hassle.
