XP SP2: patch or reinstall?

    Don't worry, I didn't take it personally...
    We already found ways to delay it before M$ gave out this patch (there is a registry setting you can add to delay SP2 update), as activating the firewall on all machines would give us problems... Therefore, I just found the explanation logical.


    (you are right on the developpers aspect though...)

      Maggi, the betas and RCs have been available to developers for several months. How much time do they need?

      I did a patch on my machines, with no problems so far. I'll reinstall once we get our slipstreamed "select license" CDs at work. Easier than doing the slipstreaming myself.

        dunno, but I figure Microsoft had a habit of changing views and ways of how things work on windows, just like they change their driver model every now and then

        also, I recall some news item, that Microsoft was uncertain about what their main target for this particular SP would have been, which was one of the reasons it got delayed that much.
