2 different wallpapers with dual monitor setup?

ultramon is slick! I like how you can add a second taskbar on the second monitor and it only shows the apps running on that monitor.

yep, that was the reason why i tried it out in the first place. Unfortunately that doesn't work any longer for me as somehow the Matrox drivers here are completely ****ed up; they don't allow me to use a 1400x1050 resolution and they don't allow PowerStrip to do them and somewhere between all the installs and uninstalls and reinstalls Ultramon stopped working as well ...

Well for XP, get a image that is the size of your full desktop and then set it to tile..thats how I get my picture to span accross monitors.

Of course if you want to different pictures, you could simple paste to pics together of the correct size

What, one really needs special software to do that in Windows? I've never really used wallpaper images in Windows, because I kept all my apps maximized anyway, but now on the Mac, a litte of the background always shows through (because browsing full width on a 22" isn't really that ergonomical - you feel like you're saying "no" all the time ), and it has this nice feature where it smoothly fades between images every 30 minutes (configurable) - and I've found some nice widescreen wallpapers. Oh, and I can of course have two different wallpapers for two monitors, but I never use the MacBook's built-in one when I'm sitting at the 22".

I found my answer in the release notes I guess I should learn to RTFM The answer is: nview is currently not supported in Vista. Along with that, there is no way to run the setup wizard or set separate wallpapers for multiple displays. There ya go. I'll check out ultramon. Thanks everyone!

Is there a way to setup a different wallpaper for each monitor I have? Or stretch the wallpaper across both screens? I think Matrox can do it, not sure if there is software for Vista?

It's in the Nvidia Control Panel under Display. Run multiple display wizard/Custom setup, choose primary display (that's more for dual view and clone mode), Span.

I think its in nview desktop manager or something - its been awhile since I've had an nvidia card (5900u)

It doesn't look like it's possible. I am setup as Dualview currently, but I see no option for different wallpapers. I am also in advanced mode.

Not sure about Vista, but you can with an nvidia card on XP - not with ATI though.
