After monitoring this forum for the past few days, I finally decided to take the plunge today and try my hand at intalling PD 5.13. I also wanted to overclock my G200 using G200CLK beta 21.
I'm happy to report that everything is stable and running just fine.
Here are some benchmarks:
Overclocked @ 224mhz and using PD 4.51
Quake2 640x480x16 41.6 fps
Unreal 640x480x16 24.2 fps
3DmarkMax 800x600x16 3178
Overclocked @ 224 mhz and using PD 5.13
Quake2 640x480x16 52.6 fps
Unreal 640x480x16 28.8 fps
3DMarkMax 800x600x16 3185
My G200 is an OEM with 8Meg SDRam and 250 Ramdac and my Monitor is an Optiquest V75.
As you can see I did get a 26% boost in Quake 2, although the D3D was pretty well the same.
I followed Matrox's recommended procedure and also flashed my bios again with 2.3, just in case.
PS This is a great forum.
