  • Really weird G400 overclocking stuff

Alright, just got my G400, and am quite pleased overall. But the overclocking stuff is REALLY puzzling me.

G200clk reports that the core and memory are both at a divider of 2. With g200clk, I can set the board at 300Mhz PLL (150Mhz core/mem) just fine, but it won't do 320Mhz (lots of artifacts in 2D).

Powerstrip reports the usual dividers (1/2 for core and 2/3 for mem). I can only go up to about 177Mhz mem (133Mhz core) before I start getting artifacts. However, I'm fine if I take it much higher (like 210Mhz mem), at which point it does something to the dividers (or possibly just ignores me entirely). I've heard that Powerstrip has some protections against clocking your card too high, so this doesn't surpise me all that much. Even so, if I set the PLL to 300Mhz with g200clk (which then reports 150Mhz core/mem), Powerstrip reports 150Mhz core/200Mhz mem.

I figure that the G400 support in these programs is in the early stages, so I'm not worried. It's still pretty weird, though.
