Matrox DVD Player - Resizing

Has anyone had any success resizing the Matrox DVD player output using DVD Genie (or anything else for that matter) so wide screen movies can be seen on PC screen without black bars?

I've seen it working with PowerDVD and the result is great (but oh my god the picture quality is awful!!!)
