I have a Matrox G400Max, a WinTV card from Hauppauge, and a Sony 8mm camcorder. The TV tuner functions of the WinTV card work well with the G400, but I'm having problems when I try to connect a video camera to the video-in jack on the back of the WinTV card.
The video-in jack on the WinTV card is a round 7-pin DIN that comes with a two-headed adapter that accepts RCA composite or S-video in. When I plug the adapter into the 7-pin jack, the image on the monitor becomes scrambled and blocky (but still recognizable) and the computer locks up. This happens even if I plug in the adapter only, without attaching the video camera to it.
Anyone had this kind of problem before?
