I do not claim responsibilty for solving the G400 tv/dvd out macrovision problem. I actually found this procedure form an old post in this forum. (forgot his name though, Mig I think ?). Apparently its an old G200 trick, but it works for my G400. Which is good since I have an old 48cm TV with no A/V inputs so I need to run it through the video. I hope it works for you.
This is what you do :
(i) start the movie ( the movie track after all menus...)
(ii) press pause
(iii) somehow go to display proprieties...
(iv) go where you adjust the resolutions, ...
(v) click advanced
(vi) go to Monitor settings TAB...
(vii) Click 'adjust the current display mode'
(vii) then, when you see the monitor pattern, click cancel...cancel...cancel
this sould make the driver forget that it was in macrovision mode...when it returns
(viii) press pause, to continue the film...
Hopefully the bloody macrovision has gone.
Cheers
Richard
