  • Win98 and Mystique driver problems?

    Hi all,
Windows98 gives me a blue screen on it's final reboot during installation, this is the system I have:
    Gigabyte GA586 TX2 motherboard
    Pentium 233 mms
    Matrox Mystique 220
    64Mb/PC100 SDRAM

I updated the Mystique's bios and got the Certified drivers, I even tried using win98's drivers.
I can boot only in Safe mode so I know it's a driver problem.
This same machine runs FINE on Win95.
    The blue error messages are:

A Fatal exception 0E has occured at 015F:BFF71201

I installed win98 over 25 times now during the last 4 dedicated days to solve this problem, I also tried disabling/enabling various BIOS options like PnP support and shadowing and caching ..etc., windows98 boots correctly once every 4 or 5 reboots, and sometimes the registery gets corrupted and unusable.

Did anybody here succeed at installing win98 on a TX439 chipset based motherboard with a Mystique 220 card ?
Till I get an answer I'll go re-install win98 a couple of more times.
Working...
