Marvel G200 & extra 8Mb of memory

Has anyone here added the extra 8Mb memory to their Marvel G200 video card? The original comes with 8Mb of VRAM. I know that you can add another 8Mb. Has anyone noticed an appreciable difference in their gaming or video resolution by adding this chip? I would like to wait a while before I get another vid card, and thought this might be an interim step.
