Just wanted to let you know of a little utility I found. I let's you tweak all kinds of settings relevant to the performance, look and feel of Q3Test2. The G200 is not directly supported, but it seems to work great anyway. G400 is directly supported in the program.
No need to remember silly console commands!!!

I found that setting my G200 to the 'best of both worlds' setting gave me an average of 19 fps in 640*480 on my G200. Not much but it seems playable and it still looks nice. G400 owners should get much better scores. You might even be able to tweak some extra fps needed to play well at high resolutions.
