Version 3.0.2
Released 11/7/2000
The angle rangle is now shown on the Work Unit page, as suggested by Jeremy Crawford and Dirk Lueders.
The Client Configuration window now automatically detects if SETI Driver is specified as the client. It it is, SETI Spy gracefully shuts down SETI Driver, which gives SETI Driver the opportunity to shut down the SETI@home client. This should address the problem of the SETI@home client continuing running after SETI Spy closes SETI Driver. Mike Ober and I collaborated on this issue.
Improved the SETI Spy file description for better identification in Zone Alarm.
The SETI@home client window now (finally) hides reliably on system startup. Thanks to everyone who reported this problem, and sorry for taking so long to fix it!
Results should now (hopefully) be logged more reliably to the setispy.log file. Let me know if you still see double loggings, missed work units, or other strange behavior.
Cleaned up the user interface units, after a suggestion by Fabio Furia Silva.
Changed the pulse period unit to seconds (duh!) as suggested by Mike Williams.
On the User page, the very long user names now won't show up to the right of the group name. Thanks to Colorado Dave, Francois Pednault, and Randy Wintjes for the bug reports.
The Browse button on the Client Configuration window now works correctly after Colorado Dave reported some problems.
The User, Group and Client Folder names now show the '&' character correctly, after Colorado Dave reported a display problem and Alfred Das suggested a fix.
The Peak Processing Efficiency window now shows accurate CpF values for the SETI@home 3.0 text client.
The Peak Processing Efficiency window now automatically refreshes whenver the CpF value is updated.
The Peak Processing Efficiency window now sorts correctly when non-period decimal separators are used. Thanks to Karsten Vinding for the bug report.
Unkown instantananeous CpF values on the Peak Processing Efficiency window is now shown as 'unknown', rather then 0.0.
All results are now reset when new work unit is started, after Andy Tomlinson and others reported problems.
Improved the TeraFLOP estimate for the version 3 client, after Lawrence Kirby did some more measurements.
Added support for the Pentium 4 and preliminary support for the Itanium processor. Thanks to Ray Hinchliffe for sharing.
The miniview window size is now saved seperately, as suggested by Betsy.
The Log File Viewer now scrolls to the last line under Windows 2000.
