- The problem mentioned in the next paragraph has been fixed, so you can re-download from the download page if you need this fix. Note if your UNIX machine auto-updates from now onwards, you should not need to apply this fix, the auto-update will get a corrected version. If you have already auto-updated and have a buggy version (see problem description below) and you are using any of the following OSes, click the appropriate link to get just the executable (smaller download) - you will have to un-gzip it and rename it to 'foldtrajlite', and overwrite the buggy foldtrajlite in your client directory. You may need to hold the Shift key when you click on the following links for the patches:
FreeBSD
Linux gcc (Redhat 6.2)
Linux icc (Redhat 7.1)
Mac OS X
Solaris 64-bit
If you are using a different flavour of UNIX and need the fix, please re-download the whole package on the download page.
- It has come to our attention that there is a relatively serious (but easily fixed) bug in the UNIX versions of the latest release (Windows is unaffected). If your /tmp (or TEMP) directory is NOT on the same hard drive partition as where you are running the client from, the client will crash when it tries to write out a log file (after 5000 strucs or when you hit 'Q' to exit) (It will say 'the program has crashed', etc. etc.). To correct for now, you can change your TMPDIR environment variable or location of your client so they are on the same partition. A fixed version with just the executable for the more common OSes will be posted as soon as they all get built. (For the less common OSes it will be fixed too, but you'll have to download the full package, that's all). Sorry for any inconvenience, but you will soon agree it is well worth the trouble as uploads of structure data to the server will now be about 25 times smaller/faster!
- Some new features have been added to the client, mostly due to user requests - see the whatsnew.txt in the client directory for details, but:
- The most significant change is much faster uploads due to smaller size. There is a small issue which needs to be corrected still with the new log format so uploads may fail with a '903' error for short periods until the exact problem is identified but for now this should not occur. If you get this error, just try again later.
