Sweden's hockeyteam 94. Forsberg's penalty goal and Salo's penalty save in the shootout.

By the way, you can check more than one box..

I gotta admit that Franz Klammer's victory in the downhill is what got me into the Winter Olympics as a kid. Still sticks in my head how close he was to the edge of control the whole way down. Snowboarding and all those spoiled-90s-thug-wannabe "sports" of the X-Games generation will never be as extreme as the Olympic downhill has always been. Always love watching that, and it was great this year too. Halfway down you could tell Strobl had it. Awesome race.

Yes it was. Had me on the edge of my seat through the whole game.

Here in Sweden they made a stamp out of Forsberg's goal, but the Canadian goalie, Corey Hirch didn't like that so he demanded that they would withdraw the stamp. It all ended up in the way that they took away Hirch's name and number from his shirt on the stamp.

Other: When that german guy who ran for spain was 2 minutes ahead of the rest of the field and still gaining over 30 km, while the commentator always said that he would fall back any minute now, because noone can keep up that speed for so long

Everytime they had to cancel due to weather!

I have never seen ski jumping like Matti Nykanen did it at those two olympics. The guy got almost completely horizontal through the air and jumped a good 10 meters farther on the 90m hill than these guys are doing today.. and he used the "inferior" straight ski style rather than the "V style." I really don't think too much of the V style. It creates much too much drag and so speed is scrubbed. Who cares about lift if you cannot maintain speed? When you slow down you drop faster. Yeah, it's a compromise, but I think the original straight ski technique was right all along, as long as you are good enough to get stretched out horizontally over your skis. It creates a much better airfoil and FAR less drag, and the flights are faster and much more impressive. I wish they would go back to that. The V style looks pretty stupid anyhow.

Yes but experiance have shown that the V-style does work far better than the usual. It helps out a good deal.

                        Best winter olympic "moment"?

Would the week the wife and I spent snowed into our house up north count?

Always did like the endurance events
