Take one glove, add the latest medical sensors, a PDA and a laptop and you get the MIDDAS Glove system.
MIDDAS is a tool for first responders and military medics.
Basically a medic would touch the wounded person on the chest with at least 3 fingers of the MIDDAS Glove and data showing;
pulse rate
respiration
body temperature
blood oxygen level
EKG
and whatever else they care to add as new sensors become available.
This data would then be transferred to the medics PDA which in turn is wirelessly linked to a portable computer. Each such system could relay data on 200 patients to trauma specialists for monitoring, diagnostics and field treatment recommenations.
MIDDAS Glove is now being tested by the US Navy SEALS and will begin field testing by the Clark County (Las Vegas), Nevada fire department later this year.
