and thus becomes the problem. How, exactly, do we manage distribution of said funds? The problem I could see is that a significant amount of people donate and at some point in time people stop distributing money...

*shrug* I am all for helping each other out, but I tend to think the idea of an organized emergency fund for it would kind of defeat the purpose of having an emergency fund... if people knew they could always turn to MURC to get some help when life hits them a little too hard (which is always relative to the person), I would be curious to see how quickly it would be abused.

just thoughts... not voting either way... it is easy to vote "yes" for the idea and be against the implementation... or vice versa...

It's a fairly interesting concept. Not quite sure how I feel about it yet. Besides trust there are also issues of fairness. Lots of well defined rules probably need to be setup to avoid any problems.

What would be the criteria to receive the money though?

I would say each decision would be based on a vote and it would have to be something like 75% voting yes. Just an idea.

EDIT: There should be qualifications such as:

        1. Super MURCer status(obviously)
        2. What else?

I trust the common sense of fellow Murcers to make the right choice, be it through a vote, threads full of flames and trolling or whatever.
