Today is the worldwide launch date of this super-hype wine. It is usually RUBBISH but occasionally makes a refreshing accompaniment to some meat dishes and cheese. I have obtained one bottle (CYP 3.50, USD 6.50) to taste and I've laid it in my cellar at 12°C to stabilise before we try it during the weekend. Note that this wine was still on the vine in September and it's a masterpiece of the viticulteur's and oenologist's arts to have it ready, from Gamay grapes to consumption, in just two months. This is reputedly a good year for Gamay, so the real AOC named Beaujolais 2005 wines should be good for laying down for a max of 4 - 5 years, no longer.
