Police: Homeless Man Shoved Ferret Down Pants
38-Year-Old Jax Beach Man Accused Of Shoving Ferret In Teen's Face
POSTED: 9:41 am EDT October 29, 2009
JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. -- A homeless man was arrested after he tried to steal a ferret by shoving it down his pants, police said.
Police said Rodney Bolton, 38, put the $129 animal in his trousers at a Pet Supermarket and walked out.

A 17-year-old witness who confronted Bolton in the parking lot was bitten by the animal after the man allegedly squeezed it and shoved it in his face.
In another strange twist, that also made the ferret a "special weapon" under Florida law. In addition to theft, Bolton also faces a charge of dangerously wielding an animal.
