Lincoln Park -- Three men were charged today with using a power drill to torture a man in the basement of the Bada Bing Lounge.
Henry M. Ramirez, 36, of Southgate; Coty Grifka, 26, of Lincoln Park; and Nathaniel V. Brewer, 22, of Lincoln Park were arraigned in 25th District Court for allegedly assaulting Dennis Cole, 38, of Lincoln Park about 4:30 a.m. Wednesday in the basement of the bar on Dix Highway.
Authorities say Ramirez pistol-whipped Cole and then used the hand drill on Cole's left hand. Coty and Grifka are alleged to have beaten Cole. Cole managed to escape and drove himself to the Lincoln Park Police Department. He was treated at a local hospital for his wounds.
"The facts of this case allege that one of the defendants used a power drill through the hand of the victim," Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said today. "This is not a Hollywood movie. The alleged behavior is completely outrageous and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."
