NASA's just annoinced that the Kepler spacecraft has found 54 exoplanets within their stars habitable zones.
One of these is .9 of Earths radius, and another 4 that are less than 2 Earth radii. These 5 planets, and 1 other, all orbit a sun-like star named Kepler 11, which is about 2,000 light years from Earth.
Kepler has discovered another 1,200 objects that are yet to be classified.
Arthur C. Clarke would be pleased.
