    That could be one of the dumbest things I've ever read. Linus reverse engineered a free unix-like kernel. There is no intellectual property there. Not to mention.... who could they sue? There is no ONE company that backs linux. That's like trying to sue God because you might have written a paragraph in the Bible and he's getting credit for it.

            SCO doesn't have to sue anyone. If they won they can stop any other companies from selling Linux hence a monoploy. Saying that, they won't win.

            Oh if they won then other Unices would probably die too (*BSD Solaris Minix Hurd etc).

              Of course, they couldn't sell Linux either. All that GPL would get in the way, and Linus owns the <I>Linux</I> trademark, so they'd need another name.
