Ok I've already got Red Hat Linux 8.0, but I just aqquired SuSE Linux today (for a whole $2.00 ). I've not really had time to get to know Red hat and of course having just gotten the new SuSE I've not gotten to know it either...but I am curious as to which you guys prefer and why...

Also any tips of how to get used to it...I'm not fimilar with Unix and hence therefore linux either, any good sites with basic universal commands for the command prompt?

Well, if you're going for Redhat, may as well go for Redhat 9.0

Command line commands just use the nice Gui interface. Oh that doesn't work.
Going to be installing RH 9 at work sometime soon as soon as I get hold of the iso's.

So i am a really using Red Hat Linux since the 7.2 Version and i find it terrific.

I live Gnome and Red Hat, because they are really good in building Distris. The good Thing is the Update Service with apt-get and Synaptic.

I am the odd one i guess... my vote goes to suse for i just digged out their old 7.0 ver and installed it and it was very smooth sailing it even mounted my win2k(fat32) and win98 partitions for the user...and their online supportbase is tops...u can find detailed solutions for almost anything

Have installed Suse - simple install - problemless and I really love the KDE invironment.

Beware, RedHat doesn't include any MP3 capability.
And MySql is not integrated to Apache (they use P-Sql instead).
