    Ulead to MPEG1 to VCD

Does anyone have the exact setting for MPEG1 conversion in Ulead Media Studio Pro VE 5.2 to be able to burn a CDR using adaptec video cd creator 3.5c or 4.0? I know that the following setting sare needed, but what else needs to be there. Are things like bitrate and such needing to be set?

Video Size 352x240, Frame rate = 29.97 fps (NTSC)

    Select "Optimized for CD-ROM" option

    Hi Questor,

A friend of mine has made several VCD discs using Ulead MSP to create the MPEG1 files and Adaptec Easy VCD Creator to burn the CDs.

He used 352x240, 29.97 fps, select "Optimized for CD-ROM," 200 KB/s total data rate, 224 Kb/s audio data rate and "Joint Stereo" audio setting. As I remember, if you set the total data rate to 200 KB/s, then select the "Optimized for CD-ROM" check box, it automatically changes the audio data rate to the right settings.

FWIW, I've been told by many people that this would never work and that MPEG-1 files created from Ulead MSP were not compatible with VCD... but the fact is that my friend has made VCDs like this and they play fine in his DVD player.
