    How can one edit past the 2 gig avi limit using Premiere 4.2... anyone?

    The short answer is - NO WAY.

    You can search the forum and find long answers with good information about this limitation and how to overcome it.

      There's a way. You can use Mainactor instead of Premiere. This Software use Directshow with max. 4GB. That's the only way out I knew. You can download Mainactor from www.mainconcept.de.

        Premiere RT with the RT-2000 and the upcoming Ulead MediaStudio Pro 6.0 both can break the 2 gig limit.

        OpenDML to the rescue with MSP6.
