140GB CDROM: Fact or Vaporware??

Just to chip in, with another worry,
At work I occassionally do fluorescent confocal microscopy. The fluorescent dyes we use photobleach like crazy...

So my question is:

Are the compounds these guys are talking about completely light stable ?
I'd be less than impressed with WORT disks that:
Write Once Read Twice

though I'm sure the movie companies would love them "This product will self destruct after "x" (2 or 3?) uses"
