G-400 + RR upgrade = VCR OUT??

Hi,

Quick question. I have the G400 (32MB). I can no longer get my Studio DC10+ to OUTPUT to VIDEOTAPE successfully (it captures and edits, via MSP 5.2, fine). Can I OUTPUT to VIDEOTAPE with the RR card?

Sounds like a nasty story

When did the DC10 stop printing to tape ? If it was happy once-upon-a-time then something else has upset it and it's probably a matter of backtracking to find out what.

I'm not aware of any specific problems between DC10 and G400, and it would seem to be overkill to stick a Rainbow Runner in to see if it works (unless you can borrow one of course)

Yes, it is a nasty story. But my question wasn't answered: can the RR output to videotape? I'd replace my DC10 with the RR, if it does.

The short answer is that the G-RR CAN output to tape.

But so can the DC10, so why isn't it ? No point in throwing money away unnecessarily. Besides, if you already have clips encoded in Miro HW MJPEG, you won't believe how much fun you could have trying to translate them to another HW codec !
