JVC HR DVS1 (MiniDV + SuperVHS Deck)

Does anybody know how much this deck costs in the UK?

I've seen an advert for it in a magazine (without the price) and it looks really cool but I've got no idea how much they cost.

Somebody tell me they're not too expensive, I really want one.

    Thanks.

    Scott,

    OUCH !

I thought I'd seen something about this, so I checked back thru my copies of Computer Video. The November issue has a review of the DVS1 which shows a street price of £1,300 inc VAT. In the review it scored well on all fronts except value for money.

Thanks Chris, guess that one's out the window then. Spent too much on the kids for Christmas.

I'm surprised though, cause JVC's SuperVHS only decks are amazing value.

Yes! I don't really understand that you can buy a DV tape deck with a lens, a dichroic beam splitter and 3 CCDs attached cheaper than you can buy a DV tape deck without all the optics. Doesn't make sense.

          Hi Brian,

I guess it's kind of like trying to buy a stand-alone Hi-8 tape deck - they cost more than most Hi-8 camcorders!
