A better set up
Is a G400max with the Rainbow Runner add on a better set up then the g400marvel?

Better in what respect ?
You get the benefit of the higher RAMDAC speed and the ability to extend the memory, and also a decent editing package.
On the other hand the Marvel only uses one slot, and the TV tuning and TV-Out sections are reported to be better (the tuner is in the BOB so there's less heat build-up and potential RF interference within the PC case)
