    MJPEG Judder

    Hi,

When I view an AVI compressed with the Matrox MJPEG codec I can see the image juddering. It is not a frame rate problem, but the whole image judders (like a regular VCR when it is paused). The problem is apparent when a clip is played in Media Player or the Matrox Remote. All is fine if I convert the file to an MPEG though.

    Thanks!

It sounds like a datarate problem. Have you followed all the usual advice on optimising your HDs ? (check www.desktopvideoworld.com)

the problem is only wenn you pause.

the HW decoder deinterlance the video to:
      pal: 50fps 704*288
      ntsc: 60fps 704*320

but it don't stop deinterlance wenn you pause

so the picture will jump one pixel(up and down)50/60 time pr sek.

That sounds like the problem I have alright. Thanks for the description. I take it that is normal behaviour for the marvel?

        Thanks!
