Is it possible to deinterlace realtime in YUY2/Mpeg4?

When I capture YUY2 and compress to Mpeg4 reealtime, in full resolution, I get the 'comb effect', (lined shadows on fast moving objects).

I think this is because the images aren't de-interlaced. Is it possible to do this de-interlacing on the fly while capturing?

Not nicely... try going to 1/2 resolution. That should eliminate one field.
