    Don't bother with XP

Been there, done that.....almost totally agree.

Multimedia performance, for that software that works, is better.

The problems are a total disregard on the part of MicroCrap for civility in regards to their licensing and that moronic standard interface. Add to those a whole 'nother layer of bloatware and YECCHHHHH.....

If this doesn't change the previews will be my last versions of XP except for betaing. Win2K and Linux are going to be busy.....

          I just installed XP beta2.

Waste of time. Had builtin drivers for G400,everything else was the Win ME look applied to W2K. Networking slow as all get out.

          Four thumbs down!

              Actually I was hoping that XP:2000 = 2000:win98SE

              Instead its looking like XP:2000 = win98SE:WinME

              Going backwards IMHO.

Its possible the final will have something worthwhile, but its so far not looking like anything will make it worth the forced registration hassle.

The Win2K engine is in there, somewhere, but all that registration BS plus the bloat plus the cutesy stuff make it painful to use. You can go to the "classic" interface but it's still not worth the trouble of installing it to me.

                FredH,

Yup. Was one of the MSPro 6.5 betas and am currently running the latest beta build.

'tis already very nice in terms of added functionality & VERY stable, of course. Looks the same when you first start it, but once you start using some of the new features....joy

                  Doc,

Yes I saw the "windows 2000 look" option, but as you say the problems are deeper that just looks.

Does the latest MSP6.5 beta build fix the preview problems with DVDmax on the G450?

                    Can't reply on the G450 issue as;

                    1. I'm under NDA from both sides of that question.

                    2. I've got active betas on both sides of that question.

Sorry. I can say I have it. I can say a bit about stuff already leaked. I can't say anything about ongoing info related to the testing.
