PCVCR replacement

Hi,

Are there any replacements for the PCVCR on a Marvel G400TV in Win2k that allows any or all of the following:

1. Change TV channels
2. Record TV using YUY2 or YUY2>MPEG
3. Timeshift
4. Record at futrue times or on regular intervals
5. List shows on all channels and select which ones to record

Also, has anyone tried www.showshifter.com on the G400TV in Win2k?

AVI_IO meets most of these requirements for *.avi's, but cannot do MPEG capture. 'tis the stanard by which other *.avi capture programs are judged;

For MPEG-1 & MPEG-2 capture Uleads VideoStudio5 or MSPro6 with the DVD Plugin work great. I say with the plugin because their original Ligos encoder was subject to quality issues (Ligos's problem, not theirs).

VS5 can, in fact, capture MPEG-2 to SVCD's 480x480 frame size once a free patch on Uleads site is applied.

Don't think it can timeshift tho Doc ? Unless there's been a large extension to functionability since my last update.

Nope, no timeshifting. Still it's the best capture replacement you're going to find plus it can use all the alternate codecs you care to. THAT's where the rubber meets the road IMHO.
