How can I convert PAL to NTSC format?

The VCR I am using is in NTSC format, but the video I just received from an order is in PAL. Is there anyway I can use my Matrox Marvel G400 to convert a VHS videotape I got in PAL format to NTSC?

I don't think so. Basically you still need something that can play PAL VHS to play the video before you can use a convertor to convert it to NTSC and then rec it back to a NTSC VCR. Even if you want to capture into the Marvel to do the conversion, you still need something that can play the PAL VHS in order to capture. But if you have something that can play PAL then you don't need to convert, right?

I don't think that multi-standard VCRs are common in North America.

In Europe most PAL VCRs are also capable of playing NTSC, so you could capture to the PC in NTSC and then play it back to PAL.

        Aww,

Wally, what a cold-water merchant you are! Yep, it was only a perspective, not a serious solution.

www.jandr.com sell multi-format VCRs in the US. I doubt its worth buying one for a single tape though.
