The G200 video editing card in my son's PC has packed up. Does anyone know what the logical replacement would be? He has a movie edited in Avid Cinema on his hard disk which he needs to stream of to video tape, so my guess is we should go for the G400. Any views on this would be welcome.

I'd say your decision comes down to a couple of key points.
1) How powerful is the machine ?
2) Are you remaining with W95/98 or are you likely to move to W2K ?
If your machine is fast enough (appx 700Mhz+) then you may find the results from the G450eTV's software codec better than the hardware compression of the G400.
If you are thinking of moving to Windows 2000 then you MUST bear in mind that Matrox will not be supporting any further drivers for the G400.

The machine is a 400 MHz Pentium II, so not particularly powerful. I was planning to leave it on W98.
