Vid Capture in W2K works

YES!!! I got it working!!! I installed the latest/official SBLive Win2k drivers (SMP enabled) and I have soundcapture!!! Thank you all!!!

Now if only Star Trek Armada wouldn't crash on me--oops STA crashes one *everyone's* computer!

Well, I got the NT 4 v4.35 drivers loaded and the v1.52 Video Tools now work, but now I can't do video-out (which worked with the W2K drivers), since the NT PowerDesk control panel doesn't seem to work so I can't turn TV-out on. If I double-click on the PowerDesk icon, I get an hourglass for half a second and then nothing. It doesn't show up under task manager or anything.

So I guess I have to chose whether I want to watch TV on my PC or watch my PC on my TV.

Thank you all for posting this VERY useful information. I was able to follow the instructions to get PC-VCR fully working in W2K, though it looks as though the vidcap interface does not work. (AVI_IO & Virtualdub do not capture) Still this is a SEVERE improvement. Thank you once again!

i tried it but now when i try to load vt in 2k it freezes up and i have to reboot... also when i tried to install vt the compatability prog froze so i had to do it under sp4 instead of 5

Hey there. Everything installed OK but when I went to turn on the remote I got the error "PC-VCR Remote does not detect a Matrox tuner in your computer. The option you've selected requires a Matrox TV tuner." I am running dual monitors and have an AGP G200 Marvel which is the primary card in the bios and the display properties. The second card is a Millenium 2 PCI. Any ideas anyone?

Am I missing something, or is there no way to send it out to TV? O well... can't have everything, I suppose.

I've got it working in Win2K as well, but if I capture at all in PC-VCR, I get a bsod on exit.

If I don't capture and just look at the video input, it works fine. What about the rest of you?

I have i G200 Marvel and i just cant wait to get i working in Win2000.

I did all the steps above and got the video capture device to show up in win2k for my marvel g200 except when i try to actually capture the video all i get is a green screen... any ideas on what's going wrong?

Have successfully installed the win NT drivers and video tools and they run ok for video viewing - but when attempting to capture using pc-vcr program errors saying 'unable to record using current settings - make sure recording path still valid - try lowering recording quality' etc etc - have tried all suggested topics but alas to no avail - anyone any ideas ?????

This is interesting - everything was working as reported above, but then I got frustrated with the frequent crashing of other applications when running PCVCR I decided to reinstall the default drivers (giving up on capture). I believe what I now have are the drivers included with the release of W2K. However, the capture still works, and it doesn't crash ever anymore.


creed - you didn't follow the steps exactly as outlined above. You have to install the NT 4.0 drivers first, then make sure you install the vidcap in VGA mode.
