    FastTrack question

Any FastTrack (original, not FT-66) owners out there tried to add a new drive to an already existing RAID? Right now, I have two 7GiG drives striped, and would like to add a third.

Is it possible to do this without having to move the data, or should I back it up?

I'd back up that data under any conditions. Even a supported function can go awry....

That said the answer is: I don't think so.

Surely when you add an extra HD the whole array has to be re-striped and formatted as a single drive ?

      Definitely a backup job !

The best place to move everything would be a really fast new HD connected to a Promise-66 controller. Reasonable price and 1/2 the moving parts
I have two Maxtor 17.2 GB HD's running Striped RAID and one drive developed bad spots on my C: partition... not a good scene... not a good scene at all.
