Can't play avi in tv window

Just got a G550..when I tried to play a avi file in media player in the tv window(second display) the player is there, the play button moves but the avi file is not visible..anyone seen this before?..thanks

Thank you for your quick response..I tried your suggestion of using the DVD player..I opened an avi and it too would not play..In fact, neither will a dvd!..in the secondary display (tv)

Hi,

There's no overlay support in the 2ndary output if you have a video window in there. You'll have to play the video window either on your primary or use dvdmax to output it to full screen on the 2ndary.

It's possible to get this working but it's very iffy, which is why we never mentioned anything about this feature working. You can try putting your desktop res to at least 1280x1024@16 or 32 and see if it helps.

Thanks to you guys for responding...I was able to get the video to work with dvd max..I'm very happy with the g550..thanks again!
