I NEED HELP WITH MY DVD ON MY G400

Please Help!
At first my DVD works perfectly then after a few weeks it comes up with a big blue screen which says fatal exception.... the only way i have managed to fix this problem was to re format my whole hard drive. Then after another few weeks the same problem happens again. I have been through this process at least 4 or 5 times.
Any Ideas??

I am still having these problems with my computer.
I have decided that the reason is very likely to do with my g400.
Could somebody tell me how to get rid of this problem!!
