Strange Problem

I've got a strange problem.
have a fasttrak66, I took it out and plugged one of my old drives back into my regular IDE. I did this before when I needed to capture some video. it worked before, I could capture MJPEG just fine. now, when I do it, I get dropped frames every 60 seconds.
is there something I might have forgotten.
I dont have the problem in w2k, it only happens in w98

Did you re-FDISK and format it before using it?

yes, I even chose the "slow" format option

Just a guess here, based on your comment about "..one of my *old* drives". Is it possible that this old drive is/was a udma33 and needed some utility run on it get it to be picked up by the FT66??

I was refering to my old setup.
the drivers are new (diamondmax plus 40)15gb
