Does anyone know if the mpeg engine in DVD Workshop can be tuned to generate better quality? I am not asking about the capture process, but rather converting DV input do DVD. I am overall ok with the quality of the encoder, but compared to tmpgenc it is still not perfect. I wouldn't mind longer encoding times if the DC precision or motion search could be adjusted, maybe with an .ini file. I usually pick the "best" DVD setting with 8000 Kbps which has no artifacts or blocks, but tends to be a little grainy.
