hoping theres w2000 experts out there!!!!!!!!!!

got my rt2500 system working ok ish

decided to remove VOB instant cdr/dvd due to dislike of interface.
eversince then my cd roms & dvd-r writer are recognised by the bios & windows but appear, with ! mks in device manager but don`t appear in "My Computer"......

tried everything including remove , reinstall cd roms+ repair of w2000 installation...........

nothing works, short of complete re-installation, is there any other options open to me?

Sounds like the registry upperfilter/lowerfilter problem first seen with Adaptec/Roxio CD burning software.

I don't remember the exact registry entries to search for and what to change them to. Perhaps this will jog someone's memory or a Goggle search on permutations of upper and lower filters will bring it up.
