composite video grabbing

matrox marvel g450

i would like to grab a video tape to my pc file (avi) for editting. the
video tape is PAL, and has a poor signal on it. using the powerdesk program, supplied
by matrox, i get "protection errors" because the card thinks the noise is macrovision.
can i disable macrovision ? what software do you recommend to use for grabbing composite
video into AVI file (mpeg 2, or full RGB).

You're gonna have to help us out here - what version of VidTools are you using?

Have you tried searching the forum (re macrovision?) or looking at (bottom of page)
