Plasma Displays only look good in a very dark viewing room. Stray light really washes things out.

They are a long way from being worth $3000 from what I've seen on display at Fry's, Circut City, and my friends living room -- hanging on the wall is cool, but the novelty quickly wears off and then you notice the subpar image contrast.
