    Not really a good name. But if the CPU is really FAST, I couldn't care less. They even could name it "Athlon FX" and throw a vacuum cleaner lookalike cooling system on it....
    But we named the *dog* Indiana...

      It's a good name I think.

      It seems like they are naming their new CPU after Nintendo's first 64bit system.

      My other guess is they want to avoid confusing between the current 32bit CPU's and the new 64bit CPU's.
      Titanium is the new bling!

        It's an ok name. The Athlon name is recognized, so that's why they're doing it. They should call it the a^64 in nintendo tradition. hehe.

        Honestly, tho...it beats the "Operton" name

          They could have called it "Athlon XP Advanced"
          If there's artificial intelligence, there's bound to be some artificial stupidity.
