    Mystique+RR as second card ?

    Hi

I finally got a Mystique220 + RainbowRunner and it is great -- in one way...

On the other hand it does not work like I expected: I can't capture or use tv-playback when I use another videocard (3D-one, AGP) for booting up...

Even when I don't use the Matrox in Win98, PC-VCR complains about Mystique using an unsupported 4bit-palette ;-(

Any workarounds except using 'VGA boot from PCI' and multiple hardware-profiles in Win98 ?

    Hi there,

sorry, but the RR only works when you configure the Mystique as the primary card in your system. You'll have to switch AGP / PCI as master during bootup if you need to switch between the RR or your second card as master.

    Bye,
    Thorsten

This is a designed in directdraw/directX problem straight from Microsoft.

Any advanced video features, overlay particularly, just won't work on the secondary display and there is little Matrox or anyone else can do about it.

That's what I figured out by now, but there HAS to be some other way ?

Btw...video4linux claims support for the Zoran-chip on the RainbowRunner...must check out this one

Im just about to get hold of a mystique/rainbow runner, and was hoping to use it as a second card for editing etc. It seems this wont be possible, but is it possible to use it as a primary card with an geforce as a secondary for 3d etc?
