    Doc? Did You See AVID's Windows 2000 Comment?



    "The version of DirectShow that is available for Windows 2000 does not offer the performance or frame accuracy required for a power digital video application like Avid Xpress DV."

    Doc, what's your opinion of the above statement?

    I'm not sure how seriously this statement should be taken.

    The problem looks to be a problem they're having with device control. Since other products seem to be doing frame-accurate device control in Win2K, one example being my RT.X100, it makes you wonder where the problem really is.

    There are reasons NOT to use Win2K though; mostly having to do with hardware support for dualies. WinXP handles them much better, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.
